Membership

The PIAA is the only trade organization dedicated solely to serving physician and other healthcare provider-owned and/or -operated medical professional liability (MPL) insurance carriers.  The Association maintains comprehensive resources for professional development and education, networking, and regulatory affairs.  In addition, as the authoritative, unified voice of MPL carriers that are owned or operated by physicians, dentists, and other healthcare professionals and facilities, the PIAA provides measured timely responses to affronts by those who challenge the MPL industry.  Founded more than 30 years ago, today’s PIAA remains focused on the principals that gave rise to its creation: dedication to financial stability, growth and prosperity of its member companies; advancement of patient safety and risk management; and support and protection of healthcare providers.  This spirit, unique among insurance trade organizations, fosters a climate of collegiality and dedication to a common cause.
